Railway track switch simulation: a new dynamic model for studying actuator and switch blade dynamics

This paper proposes a new approach to the dynamic modelling of railway track switches. The results in model which faithfully reproduces bending switch blades, allows simulated actuators (forces) be applied along length rails and can times that are an order magnitude faster than similar models multi-body dynamics software (such as Simpack). These main contributions should use researchers engineers concerned with design switches their actuation mechanisms.
